32TEN Studios Produces Multiple Practical Effects for “Noah”
San Rafael, CA — 32TEN produced numerous practical effects for the motion picture, “Noah.”
The Paramount Pictures and Regency Enterprises enjoyed a $43M opening weekend and broad critical praise.
32TEN Studios shot a number of practical elements that were used by Industrial Light & Magic during the post production process. The elements included simulated rain, crashing waves and smoke effects.
“The practical effects shot by 32TEN, when combined with our CG work, helped us create realistic images for this story,” said ILM VFX Supervisor Phillippe Rebours.
“When it comes to water, nothing beats the real thing,” says 32TEN Studios FX Supervisor Geoff Heron. “The trick is not to blow the scale.”
Directed by Darren Aronofsky, “Noah” stars Russell Crowe in the title role, Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Anthony Hopkins and Logan Lerman. Aronofsky and Ari Handel wrote the film. Aronofsky, Handel, Chris Brigham, Scott Franklin, Amy Herman, Mary Parent and Arnon Milchan served as producers.
